This is a big huge congratulation to Dennis Akins and Suzanne Macre for Ch Down Datrail Hunting Thrills CD “Thrillers” Best of Breed at the 2009 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. Thriller is out of our Desi (National BISS Multiple Group Winning CH Pizzazz Topped with Desire). While I am not a breeder of Thriller, I still feel a connection to him and am proud at Dennis’s and Suzanne’s accomplishments with him. Just an FYI – Thriller was the 2009 #4 Breed Curly and the #1 All Breed Curly. Last year all of us attended Westminster and Desi was Best of Opposite Sex and Thriller was awarded first Award of Merit.
Thank you for allowing me to brag for the whole Down the Trail Curly Coated Retreivers!

Monday, January 26th, 2009Wonderful news from California! Neon aka DDT Golden Rainbow Neon Sparkle surprised everyone by earning WD and a 3 pt major his first time ever in the ring. Neon was entered Saturday and Sunday out at shows but when they arrived Saturday, he was scared and not a happy boy, so, they pulled him as to not have a bad experience. Then, they went back on Sunday and WOW – did he ever pull it together! Can’t wait to share the win photos with everyone!
Happy Holidays!

You don’t hear much about our Curly Coated Retreivers, it’s probably because Dennis is taking such good care of them way out in Tennessee. This is Volley – the girl that Dennis, Trudy and I co-own together. Barbara Epstein helped raised her during the crucital puppy weeks and we love her dearly like that. We also own Neon who is in California with a home training him to show and Burnie that if I am correct is in another home in Tennessee that is going to let us show him. If I am wrong, Trudy or Dennis will have to correct me. All three of these babies have their own web pages on my web site that I will continue to update as I get information. They should be starting their show careers in January. Anyways – I just didn’t want ya’ll to forget that I am involved in this beautiful breed!
