Laur’en has sucess at Fun Day!

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

This past weekend AKC had it’s Responsible Pet Ownership Event in Enid, Oklahoma. The Jordan family attended. Mom and I were unable to go due to obligations with 4 days of Bulldog specialties. The Jordan family hosted two of the breed booths to help educate the public about German Shepherd Dogs and Pointers. They also helped teach handling classes and had fun games for the young visitors! There was also a match that they competed in including Laur’en competing in the Junior Showmanship competition where she won Best Junior showing her Pointer Ziggy. This was just a fun show but Laur’en used it as a warm up for the fall shows she is set to attend! Stay tuned for more of her success!

The Fonz has joined the Rainbow Gang!!!

Thursday, August 6th, 2009

introducting Penpoint’s Arthur Fonzarelli – aka Fonzi! Fonzi is the newest addition to Rainbowshowdogs. Thank you to Lee Ann Stagg for allowing this precious boy to come and be part of our family. He’s been with us for just 24 hours and he’s so much fun already. He’s fitting into our family just fine. I will be getting his web page up and running – but wanted to share the word!

Houston Dog Shows

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009

Well, not sure if Houston survived the Wild Oklahoma Rainbow Gang – but it took all of us 3 days to recover from Houston!

The Houston Dog Shows are the biggest shows for us to easily attend – 16 conformation rings, at least 4 agility rings, plus the obedience rings, flyball, group ring with bleachers set up, over 150 vendors tempting us with goodies! Jennifer, Jodie, Jessica, and I traveled down to Houston, carvanning with 2 vehicles transporting the following dogs: Hummer (Great Dane), Frodo (Cardigan), Ruby and Ranger (Brittanys), Moet (Boston Terrier), and Ayden (Chinese Crested). We stayed with Phil and Jenny Suchan in the Woodlands. Phil and Jenny’s Daughter and son-in-law, Adrian and Tim, were also sharing the house. We figured out that put 8 humans and 13 dogs all in one spot! WOW! What a troop! Yes, it was the zoo that you can imagine but actually a very peaceful zoo.

The Suchan’s are about 45 minutes from the show site, but it is so nice to have plenty of room, a pool, nice places to walk the dogs. Great food and company to boot. Heck, we even had extra dog walkers. Jennifer and I had stayed with the Suchan’s before, attending the Houston show but this was a brand new experience on more levels than u can know for Jodie and Jessica.

Thursday we had 5 specialties! Cardigans, Britany’s, Great Dane, and 2 Boston Terrier specialties. We had a super fantastic day with Bonner (Frodo’s Brother) earning Winner’s Dog for his 2nd major!! Frodo did win his bred by class as did their sister Lila winning her puppy class. Bonner also won Best Puppy at the specialty! Bonner won his first major at the OKC Supported Entry – so we were definitely doing the happy dance. Then, in Brittany’s Jodie and I tagged teams Ranger to guide him to Winner’s Dog/Best of Winners for 2 pts! These were Rangers first points!

Friday was the first all breed show. Jessica led Bonner and Lila to reserve winners. Jodie led Ranger to reserve winners as well. I helped out in the Curly Coated Retreiver ring, showing King to Winners Dog/Best of Winners/BEST OF BREED for a 3 p major! His 3rd major!!! YIPPPEEE! We got to play in group and he had a great time!

Saturday brought another reserve win for Lila and Ranger with both of them earning Best Puppy. They had the same handlers as above. Today, Jennifer WON the big bred by exhibitor class with Moet!!! And, my “big” win was winning the bred by exhibitor class with Frodo. Jody and Jessica showed their puppies in the puppy groups and I have videos of their performances that will be on facebook soon!

Sunday, the only brag was Frodo being award reserve winners dog to a major and Best Bred By Exhibitor entry in the breed.

We really were blessed with another fantastic show weekend and especially winning at the specialties!
I am working through the photos now and will be getting them on facebook very quickly!

Thanks to the Suchan’s for their hospitalty! See you next year!

A little Bit of everything

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

Well, Lila is pouting, she is very mad at me right now. Last weekend in Texarkana Lila was awarded Winner’s Bitch/Best of Winner’s/Best of Opposite Sex for a 4 point major! These are her first points and the first one in the litter to earn a major. Thank you so much to my assistant Jessica Riffe for handling her to this win. I was showing Lyn Buck’s Open Bitch – “Cedar” who just needs a major to finish. Cedar took reserve behind Lila. At least is was all in the family since Lyn bred Lila with mom and I! Congrats to Lori and Nathan Drozd on this win. They weren’t there to see it but I made sure to scream and hollar the good news over the phone.

Also, a brag to Doug Rosner and Elaine Hudson – the week after Nationals Astra (Rhodesian) won her Field Championship title!!! She also earned two more of her Master Courser Legs. We believe Astra is the first Oklahoma Bred/Raised Rhodesian to earn their FC title! I am so proud of the Cynara Ridgebacks on such an accomplishment. Now we will be working hard on Astra’s AKC Championship so that she will be a Dual Champion.

Other news, well,,,,, my husband lost his job. That is half of the reason I have been updating everything. He is searching high and low but I do believe everyone understands how bad the economy is right now. I have been working as many hours as I can and when not working, I am in total chill mode. We are ok right now but please keep him in your prayers that he finds a job soon.

The hot summer weather is officially here in Oklahoma. The dogs don’t even want to go outside, anytime of the day. They are true couch potatoes – but wait a minute, that
is anytime of the year! BIG GRIN!

Right now I have two extra dogs at our house. The Drozds sent home Lila with me, so we could go to the OKC shows. It was easier than trying to get her back and forth as they live in Texas! She and Frodo have been having a romping good time – Lila has even been allowed to sleep with us at night on the bed a couple times – I am trying not to ruin her for Lori and Nathan! HeHeHe. I also have a young Siberian named Dash from Missouri here. Dash belongs to Dawn Livesly and Stephanie Wetzel. He has both of his majors and again, it was easier to keep him from Texarkana to the OKC shows. Jessica and I have been training him in hopes of a specials career when he matures. He will get to see his moms in just a few days and I know it will be a joyful reunion.

The big Oklahoma City Summer Dog Shows starts this Thursday. I sure hope to be sharing a lot of brags with everyone! We have a lovely string of dogs and are looking forward to their successes!

Alright, going to go back to my relaxing. It’s time to work out the planning and organizing for the OKC shows!

Great Job Logan!

A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to Logan and Jett on Jett earning his CD title in Grove this past weekend!
Logan showed Jett in Novice A obedience on Saturday and guided him to a score of 177 and Jetts 3rd qualifying score to earn his AKC Companion Dog title! What an accomplishment for a 12 year old boy!
Way to go LOGAN!

Laur’en did great at Nationals!

Saturday, April 18th, 2009

Laur’en Jordan bravely showed our 6 month old Buckaroo’s Lord of the Rainbow STAR (aka “Frodo”) in Junior Showmanship today at the 2009 CWCCA National. This team took 2nd place with the judge commenting that he knew she was working with a not so happy puppy today but that she did a great job with him. The young gentlemen who beat her went on to win Best Junior Handler for the National Specialty. Laur’en did an awesome job handling Frodo and we were all very proud of her.

Another Win from Nationals!

Saturday, April 18th, 2009

I feel so blessed right now. Today, our Miss Lila was awarded 2nd place in the 6-9 month puppy bitch class at the CWCCA Nationals. This means that all three of our show prospect babies earned placements at this years nationals. This is quite a feat. I am honored that Lilas mom and dad – Lori and Nathan Drozd allowed me to show Lila to this win and that they were there to see her win. I know how much it meant to them for her to win this award!

More Wins from Nationals!

Friday, April 17th, 2009

Oh My Gosh – what a wonderful second day at the 2009 CWCCA National Specialty. Rainbow’s MacWallace JW Red (aka Wally) won the Open Dog Class! Elizabeth, mom, and I are the breeders of Wally. Wally lives out in California with Joanne and Ron Pape, who own Wally’s Dad. Elizabeth handled Wally to this wonderful win!
Then, Buckaroo’s I’m Bona Fide (aka Bonner) was awarded 3rd place in the 6-9 puppy dog class. Lyn Buck owns Mr. Bonner and I handled him to this lovely win.
Finally Buckaroo’s Lord of Rainbow STAR (aka Frodo) made the cut in a very competitive Bred By Exhibitor Class. He was the youngest dog to make the cut and I was so thrilled to accomplish this feat.

WOW – is the only word I have for this wonderful National Specialty. Tomorrow the girls get to compete again!

Frodo brings home a placement from Nationals!

BIG WOW! Frodo aka Buckaroo’s Lord of the Rainbow STAR – brought home a 3rd place in 6-9 month puppy dog sweepstakes at the 2009 CWCCA National! The judge was Marla Gardner and there were 19 cute little Cardi boys in his class!!!!

Frodos brother and sister were also shown. They put on great performances but weren’t quite to the judges liking. I also showed Cedar aka Buckaroo’s Over the Moon and she made the cut in her nice 15-18 month puppy bitch sweepstakes class, no ribbon, but made the cut!

Ellie and Elizabeth Macnair had a good day. Their 3 siblings made the cut with Boomer bringing home a 4th place in the 9-12 month puppy dog sweepstakes class. Then Elizabeth handled BISS CH Shamrocks Faith Hill to Best Veteran in Sweepstakes. Faith Hill won the CWCCA National when she was 6 months old!

Thursday – the boys get to play in the real competiton and on Friday – the girls go again. Going to head to bed and try to get some sleep!

Grove Weekend #1

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

OH MY GOSH – what a wonderful weekend we have in Grove, OK!!!! The BIG WIN was the Group 2 with Siberian Husky – Rummer! This was Rummer’s and my first weekend back together for 2009 and what a way to start!! We had wins all over the place! Miss Spike, Akita, finished her Championship with a third major!! Dash, Siberian Husky, earned a 4 point major – his second major. Cedar, Cardigan Welsh Corgi, earned 2 more points towards her Championship as did Jasmine, Long Hair Dachshund! Scuba, Rhodesian Ridgeback, earned her first Championship point! Then Frodo, my Bred By Cardigan, earned his first Championship point! And, the weekend ended on a high note with Ayden, Chinese Crested, earning another point and he also went Best of Breed over a special! So, Jessica got to play in group for the first time and she and Ayden looked great!

I will be headed to Cardigan Nationals in less than 12 hours – so much to do – so going to stop this note fast!

Thanks to all my clients for letting me show their beautiful dogs!
