WOW oh WOW – what a weekend – 25 championship points – 5 majors – new champion! How much better can it get!

OK – so the low down
Bailey (Long Hair Dachshund) went Winners/Best of Winners on Thur for a 4 pt major, Fri and Sat back to back reserve wins, then on Sun Winners/Best of Winners/Best of Opposite Sex (over special) for a 5 pt major! This nine month old girl is now at 13 pts with both of her majors! YIPPEE!!!

Ciara (Greater Swiss Mountain Dog) went Winners/Best of Winners on Thur for a 3 pt major and then finished her championship on Sat going Winners for another major! This young lady came a long way with me, she got spooked of the ring with her mom and after spending time in what we affectionally called Rainbow Bootcamp, she came around and showed like a dream and is our 14th NEW CHAMPION for 2010!!!!

Cosmo (Siberian Husky) went Winners on Sunday with his Junior Hanlder Laur’en showing him and he earned a 4 pt major – so now he is at 9 points with one major! Way to go Ren

Frodo (Cardigan) oh poor Frodo – this young man is fighting becoming a show dog with all his might – what he doesn’t know is his mom is more stubborn than he is! Anyways, Frodo went Winners on Thur for 1 pt, Reserve Winners on Fri, Winners/Best of Winners for 2 pts, and then on Sunday Winners/Best of Breed/Best of Winners on another point! Good job young man!

Jose (Boxer) was shown by me for the first 3 days but it took being shown by his mom to go Winner/Best of Breed for a point! Way to go Jeannie!

In Dobe – Karlee with Zeigen got 1 reserve win and me with Johann got 1 reserve win.

In Juniors – Laur’en showed Ziggy to 3 fourth place wins (if I am correct) and then she showed Cosmo on Sunday and there she earned a 2nd place.

I think that’s it for our wins – it was a faboulous show! Way to go team rainbow!!!

Another Group Placement!

Gigi did it once again! At the Enid Dog Shows, Gigi (Dogue De Bordeaux) earned her second group placement. Last year Gigi got the first group placement for a female Bordeaux and now is one of only 3 Bordeaux with 2 or more placements. It was an honor to be at the other end of the least.

I am currently on the road for 7 straight weeks and am falling behind on the blog and my website, bad handler I know.

In Enid, besided Gigi’s win – I handled Keppie (Border Collie) to back to back Best of Breeds. Ruby (Brittany) earned her 14th pt – one more to become a champion. Bailey (Long Hair Dachshund) earned her 2nd point and also another Best of Variety win. Laur’en showed Cosmo to another point and Best of Breed.

The next weekend we went down to Lawton, OK. Here Bailey (Long Hair Dachshund) earned 2 more points. Jessica guided Katcher (German Shepherd Dog) to her first point an a Best of Breed. Lauren Moore, another Junior that travels with us earned a Best Junior Handler.

Last weekend I went down to Austin TX. Here Katie (Curly Coated Retreiver) and Emma (Kerry Blue Terrier) both earned their first point and both earned Best of Breed as well. And King (Curly Coated Retreiver) earned his 14th point and another Best of Breed.

We have been getting a lot of reserve wins – all of those are being published on our web site show results. I was just trying to keep the babbling down here.

Headed to Missouri for the next two weekends, then back to Oklahoma and then down again to Texas. More brags to come!

BIG HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO Laur’en Jordan for winning back to back Best Junior Handler at the Sooner State Kennel Club Dog Shows in Enid, OK!!! Laur’en showed her Siberian
Husky Zvezda’s Cosmic Ray “Cosmo” in Junior Showmanship and she won her
class both days and went on to win Best Junior Handler as well. These
wins were under esteemed all breed judges Mrs Patricia Trotter from
Carmel, California and Mrs. Robert C Thomas from Southborough,
Massachusetts. In judging Junior Handling, the judges observe the juniors
exhibiting their dogs as they should be shown in their breed competition.
Mrs. Trotter, who just judged at the 2009 Siberian Husky National
commented to Laur’en that she did a wonderful job presenting Cosmo. Mrs.
Thomas told Laur’en she won on the small details like staying close to her
dog to keep in him control.

Laur’en also showed Cosmo in the regular classes as he is working towards
his championship. On Saturday under judge Mr. Robert Thomas, Cosmo was
award Best of Breed and Winners Dog, earning his 5th championship point.
Sunday Cosmo was award Reserve Winners Dog under judge Mrs. Trotter.

AYDEN EARNS his RALLY NOVICE TITLE

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

I am so proud of Jessica Riffe and her Chinese Crested Ayden! Jessica showed up at Canine Sports Academy last year, wanting to work a Chinese Crested puppy in obedience, agility, and wanted to see what conformation was all about. Who would have ever thought that this young lady would now have a multiple Best of Breed winning, Champion and now Rally Novice title toy dog in less than a year!!!! Not only did Ayden earn his Rally Novice title he did it in style earning 3 placements along with his 3 qualifying score.

Ayden earned his Rally title at the Hot Springs, Arkansas show. He also earned another Best of Breed. We had a small string of dogs and Bailey (Long Hair Dachshund) brought home 2 Reserve Wins.

Our new puppy Fonzi attended this show with us and on my Facebook account, there is a cute photo album of the shows from his standpoint.

We stayed with my longtime friend Trudy for this show and we had fun helping her. She had a fabulous show earning a group 2 on her Curly Coated Retreiver “Bramble” and a group 3 on her Giant Schnauzer “Pablo”. She also finish her Plott Hound “Bobby” Championship.

I have the upcoming weekend off and then am on the road for 3 weekends – stay tuned!

The Brittany ring was super nice to us with Ranger earning both of his major with his mom Jodie handling him! He also went Best of Breed both days he was winners dog. I got to show him in group on the second day and WE MADE THE CUT! I hear he look fantastic in the group! I am so proud of Jodie for guiding him in the ring to his majors! Ruby also went Winner’s Bitch one day and reserve the next two days.
Ayden (Chinese Crested) pulled off one Best of Opposite Sex. Bailey (Long Hair Dachshund) got one Reserve Winners and Bailey (Labrador Retreiver) picked up another Reserve Winners as well.

We had a blast at the Salina shows and I am sorry I didn’t report the results as fast as this. We hung out with all of our friends, had dinner parties, it was such a fun show. I also must say CONGRATS to Barbara Perry on her group1 with her German Shorthair Pointer Billy. It was great watching her win!

Elk City New Group Placer!!!

Sunday, September 6th, 2009

BIG HUGE CONGRATS to the Suchan family from Houston on “King” Carapciu Phillips GB Kingston, a Curly Coated Retreiver on earning a Group 4 at the Elk City dog shows! King only needs 2 more points to become and AKC champion. He and his house sister “Katie” came up all the way from Houston, TX to compete in this show as we knew there would be another Curly Coated Retreiver competing. The trip paid off as King got closer to his championship and earning his first group placement along the way! What a wonderful win!

Elk City was super busy for me as i was running from ring to ring showing 11 dogs each day. I am proud to say that I only missed one dog. I could not have done it without my assistants – Jessica Riffe, Laur’en Jordan, and Jennifer Duffy! They helped get my dogs groomed, stood at the rings with the dogs, passed dogs to me, and helped with the over all care of the dogs at the show. It was awesome teamwork from some awesome ladies!

King wasn’t our only big winner for the weekend. I will only list the dogs first names to save time. Our show results page on my web site has the dogs complete names:
Trouble (Rhodesian Ridgeback) earned 2 winners for 2 championship points

Joes (Boxer) earned 2 Winners and 2 championship points, plus he was awared Best of Breed one day

Bailey (Long Hair Dachshund) went Reserve Winners and then Winners/Best of Breed earning her first championship point

Hummer (Great Dane) went Winners earning his first championship point

Jennifer Duffy showed her Moet (Boston Terrier) to Winner’s/Best of Opposite Sex for 1 championship point

Jessica Riffe showed Ayden (Chinese Crested) to 2 Best of Opposite Sex’s

Reserve wins went to Stormy (Golden Retreiver) and Riley (Lab)

I also want to congratulate Lauren Moore on winning her two Junior Showmanship classes – qualifying her to enter the Westminster Dog Show and also for earning Best Junior Handler on Saturday! She also showed her Lab to Best of Breed on Sunday! Lauren also showed her new Boxer to Winner’s for a point. Lauren and her mom Tonya are part of our traveling group and it’s always wonderful watching them win!

Also Congrats to Bruce and Joanne Barnes for finishing Windy (Siberian Husky). Windy is the sister to our Cosmo! If I am correct, this is the 2nd champion of the litter. We hope to start bringing Cosmo out this fall. He’s been sitting at home growing up.

And, Stephanine Wetzel and Dawn Livesay came all the way from Missouri – Stephanine guided Diva (Siberian Husky) to Winner’s for 1 point. Dawn in one of our shutterbugs who takes some of our wonderful photos from the shows!

Remember – you can see more of the photos on my facebook page, I post them every week after the show. I also try to update my web site but it’s so fast to do facebook!!!

I am home for a weekend. I was on the road for 4 weekends. It is nice to have some down time but I am gearing up for the Salina, KS shows next weekend! Then I am the photographer for the 4 days of Bulldog specialties in Oklahoma and am headed to Hot Springs, AR the week after.

More Later!

BIG HUGE ROUND OF APPLAUSE TO BONNER! CHAMPION Buckaroo’s I’m Bona Fide!
Bonner’s first show was the CWCCA National where he earned 3rd place in the 6-9 puppy dog class
Bonner’s second show was the OKC CWCCA Supported Entry where he went Winner/Best of Winners for a 4 point major!
Bonner’s third show was the BlueBonnet Specialty where he went Winners for a 3 point major!
Bonner’s fourth show was the Houston All Breed shows where he went Reserve Winners to a major.
His Fifth and sixth shows were also the Houston Shows – where he got a 1st and 2nd (his brother Frodo did pick up one of the reserve wins)
Bonner’s seventh show was the Topeka All Breed shows where he went Winner’s Dog/Best of Winners for a 4 point major. His Brother Frodo went Reserve Winners to him!
Bonner’s eigth show was another Topeka All Breed Show where he first went Best in Puppy Sweepstakes and then onto Winner’s Dog/Best of Winner’s for a 5 point major and to finish his championship.

I must thank Lyn Buck for letting my mom and I co-own Bling, Bonner’s mom with us. This is Bling’s second champion! Thank you to Lyn for letting me guide Bonner to this extremely quick championship and I MUST thank Jessica Riffe and Lee Ann Stagg for showing Bonner and each of them guiding him to one of his majors. I was in the ring showing Frodo on these occasions.

Bonner is my second champion that I have bred. He is just 10 months of age! He is also the first AKC champion for his dad CH Kermins Strike up the Band, the import that Jon Kimes brought back from oversees. Lyn is going to now start working Bonner in herding and we will look at him in about a year to consider his specials career. He gets to go grow up and enjoy life working with cattle and being a bed buddy with Lyn and her hubby!

Little Rock Dogs Shows a BIG Success!

Monday, August 10th, 2009

I think this picture says it all! Memphis (Siberian) brought home the biggest win for the Rainbow Gang at the Little Rock dog shows. This was my first weekend with Memphis to start her specials career. She won Best of Breed both days and on Saturday brought home her first group placement. Memphis is the 3rd of the Angelfire Siberians that have been awarded group 2’s this year!!!! A huge accomplishment if I do say so myself.

Memphis wasn’t the only winner of the weekend. Jennifer Duffy brought her mother/daughter combo of Boston Terriers and earned Winner’s Bitch both days with Moet for her first two points. Jennifer is showing Moet in Bred By Exhibitor and we are really proud of these wins! Lilly, Moet’s mom competed in Best of Breed and was awarded Best of Opposite Sex both days.

We had two of our dogs earned Reserve Winner’s both days – Jose (Boxer) and Trouble (Rhodesian Ridgeback) Jose has been with me for the past two weeks for training and this was my first weekend to show him. Trouble has been sitting at home maturing and if just starting the fall show circuit, we are looking towards the fall shows with them.

Ayden (Chinese Crested) also won Best of Breed one day of the shows. He started playing games with his mom and didn’t show worth a hoot on the first day – he deserved to lose. He started to play games with her on Sunday, so i took him in the ring and guided him to Best of Breed. Jennifer showed him in groups to work him through his issues and did a good job at that.

Next weekend is Topeka, Kansas – will be showing my cardigans! YIPEE!

Houston Dog Shows

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009

Well, not sure if Houston survived the Wild Oklahoma Rainbow Gang – but it took all of us 3 days to recover from Houston!

The Houston Dog Shows are the biggest shows for us to easily attend – 16 conformation rings, at least 4 agility rings, plus the obedience rings, flyball, group ring with bleachers set up, over 150 vendors tempting us with goodies! Jennifer, Jodie, Jessica, and I traveled down to Houston, carvanning with 2 vehicles transporting the following dogs: Hummer (Great Dane), Frodo (Cardigan), Ruby and Ranger (Brittanys), Moet (Boston Terrier), and Ayden (Chinese Crested). We stayed with Phil and Jenny Suchan in the Woodlands. Phil and Jenny’s Daughter and son-in-law, Adrian and Tim, were also sharing the house. We figured out that put 8 humans and 13 dogs all in one spot! WOW! What a troop! Yes, it was the zoo that you can imagine but actually a very peaceful zoo.

The Suchan’s are about 45 minutes from the show site, but it is so nice to have plenty of room, a pool, nice places to walk the dogs. Great food and company to boot. Heck, we even had extra dog walkers. Jennifer and I had stayed with the Suchan’s before, attending the Houston show but this was a brand new experience on more levels than u can know for Jodie and Jessica.

Thursday we had 5 specialties! Cardigans, Britany’s, Great Dane, and 2 Boston Terrier specialties. We had a super fantastic day with Bonner (Frodo’s Brother) earning Winner’s Dog for his 2nd major!! Frodo did win his bred by class as did their sister Lila winning her puppy class. Bonner also won Best Puppy at the specialty! Bonner won his first major at the OKC Supported Entry – so we were definitely doing the happy dance. Then, in Brittany’s Jodie and I tagged teams Ranger to guide him to Winner’s Dog/Best of Winners for 2 pts! These were Rangers first points!

Friday was the first all breed show. Jessica led Bonner and Lila to reserve winners. Jodie led Ranger to reserve winners as well. I helped out in the Curly Coated Retreiver ring, showing King to Winners Dog/Best of Winners/BEST OF BREED for a 3 p major! His 3rd major!!! YIPPPEEE! We got to play in group and he had a great time!

Saturday brought another reserve win for Lila and Ranger with both of them earning Best Puppy. They had the same handlers as above. Today, Jennifer WON the big bred by exhibitor class with Moet!!! And, my “big” win was winning the bred by exhibitor class with Frodo. Jody and Jessica showed their puppies in the puppy groups and I have videos of their performances that will be on facebook soon!

Sunday, the only brag was Frodo being award reserve winners dog to a major and Best Bred By Exhibitor entry in the breed.

We really were blessed with another fantastic show weekend and especially winning at the specialties!
I am working through the photos now and will be getting them on facebook very quickly!

Thanks to the Suchan’s for their hospitalty! See you next year!
